Law no. 675 of 31st December 1996, regulating the protection of personal data, was abolished by legislative decree no. 196 of 30th June 2003, which introduced the new personal data protection regulation. To this end, one-man company GENERAL C.M. The interested parties may also ask to know the origin of the personal data, the purposes and the treatment methods; the logics adopted should the treatment be carried out by means of electronic devices; the identification details of the holder and person in charge; obtain the deletion, conversion into anonymous form or the freezing of the treated data should the regulation be breached, as well as the update, correction, and, if needed, the integration of further data; to refuse, for legitimate reasons, the treatment of data regarding him/her, even just to send advertising material or for direct sale. Such rights may be asserted also via proxy, through a request forwarded to the person in charge by means of a letter. While asserting his/her rights, the interested party may give a letter of attorney to individual persons, agencies, associations or other bodies. The interested party may also be assisted by someone s/he trusts.
